GIVING THE ENEMY A TASTE OF ETERNITY

The Lord allows US to experience a little of what eternity with him will be like!

  • Ever been in a praise and worship service that elevated you to where you felt as if you were before the throne room with the angels singing an everlasting chorus of “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty”?
  • Ever been on your knees praying or in your secret closet and you could feel the presence of God and you knew that he had received your requests and were going to answer them?
  • Ever been in a sticky, dangerous, difficult situation and things turned in your favor with no assistance from you?
  • Ever been in mishpochah, fellowship with the family of God, and you felt love and respect for one another and knew that there was nothing you could not tackle — together!

If we can get a taste of the eternal, now, is it not true also for the enemy? Consider these questions:

  • Do you know where the enemy will spend eternity?

And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever! (Rev. 20:10)

  • Do you know what his fate is?

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thessalonians 2.8)

Just as the Lord has allowed us to experience a glimpse of eternity, so can we allow the enemy to experience a glimpse of what his eternity will be. Let’s do it together!

  • Let’s rebuke him because he will be forever rebuked then!

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (Jude 1:9 NIV)

  • Let’s tread upon ALL his works, because he and all his works will be burned and under our feet.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:19 NIV)

  • Let’s resist him and watch him flee because he will eventually flee from us as we join forces with the armies of heaven! We will witness his eternal demise!

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. (Psalm 91:8 NIV)

PRAYER: Father, thank you for that revelation! May we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit every day and war in the Spirit against the one who wants to steal even our immediate glimpse of heaven! Amen and Amen!

DO YOU KNOW HOW SPECIAL YOU ARE?

When I think about what we mean to Yeshua, I am so overwhelmed with pride and humilty all at the same time. I know you’re thinking, “How can that be?” Ever seen your dad so something or say something fabulous, and you said, “That’s MY dad”? You were overflowing with pride for that man! That’s how I feel about MY God! He does something and says something fabulous every day!

On the other hand, this gargantuan God choses to love ME! Yes, prone-to-going-astray ME! Yes, one-made-of-dust ME! I am humbled.

Get this!

  • We were once SERVANTS, and you know what? Now He calls us FRIENDS:

John 15:15 — “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

That’s what Israel Houghton was so amazed about — when He got the revelation that the God of the universe calls us ‘FRIEND.’ Yeshua says everything He learned from the Father He has shared with us! Grasp it, friends, grasp it! It’s exciting and amazing!

Get this!

  • He did not stop with friendship! He calls us CHILDREN. That’s right — SONS and DAUGHTERS of the most High God.

Galatians 4:6
Because you are his sonsGod sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

1 John 3:1
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

Wait a minute! It’s not over! He says this through Paul the apostle:

Romans 8:17
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

  • HEIRS! JOINT-HEIRS! Yes, that’s right! Everything that Messiah, my brother (Savior, Redeemer, Friend) has, I also have and have a right to. Look at our brother Yeshua! — not afraid to share with us His Father’s (our Father’s) affections! Having no insecurity in sharing with us all the riches of Heaven! What a friend! What a brother! What a God!

Wait! There’s still more! Look!

  • We are His BRIDE! He’s coming to get us! Coming to take us to be with Him! Rescuing us from a perishing world! What a courtship! What a GROOM! What a SAVIOUR!

Revelation 21:9
“One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb’.”

Are you feeling as if you are not special today? Well, you are very special! I hope you now know HOW special?”

PRAYER: Abba, thank you for allowing us to be your servants! If you had never “promoted” us, we, like the prodigal son, would have been pleased to be servants in our Father’s house! But you did promote us! You made us children! We can cry, Abba — (in an intimate, loving way) to such a Father that brings pride and humilty to our hearts all at the same time! And you promoted us again and called us heirs and joint-heirs! Help us to wrap our minds around that reality, Abba; please help us! And you want to marry us! You want us really to be YOURS! That’s what we want as well. We await YOU, Master, Friend, Co-Heir, Bridegroom! We await you!  Amen!

A PRAYER FOR 2012

This first song I sang on the morning of January 1, 2011 is “God Is Good All the Time.” Looking back on 2011, that was a most appropriate anthem to sing about our God! Another one that I sang is “Who is a God Like You.”

Here are some of the words:
Who is a god like You?
You are God!
Lord God strong and mighty!
You are God!
Lord God mighty in battle.
Creator of the heavens and the earth.
You are God!
You are God!

When I sang it, it brought me to tears! I prayed this prayer for me and so I want to pray it for you as well. This is my prayer for my brothers and sisters in 2012!

Father, sear the words of that song in our minds! Write it on our hearts! Brand it in our spirits! Etch it on our souls! Let our lungs breathe that truth! Let our voices declare that fact! Let us live lives that reflect the reality of those words!

When we do, Father, 2012 will be a banner year for the Kingdom! We will stop asking You to do what you have commanded us to do. Forgive us for asking You to heal the sick, and visit those in jail, and supply food for others, and to comfort the bereaved! That’s what You called us to do! This year we will be able to do what You have commissioned us to do if the truth of the words of that song are supernaturally carved into our beings! More souls will be saved this year than last. More missionaries in the war zone! The people of God encouraged to live out their God-given destinies and potential for the Kingdom!

Yes, Father, etch it on our hearts and . . .

  • WE will heal the sick!
  • WE will raise the dead!
  • WE will visit the poor, sick, and afflicted!
  • WE will comfort those who mourn!
  • WE will drive out demons!

Let your Kingdom come, O Lord! Let your will be done! In Yeshua‘s Name! Amen.
